Desktop app / in development

Dancefloor Bass Analyzer

A desktop app for exploring the sub-sonic characteristics of a DJ’s music library, built with React and Rust.

Dancefloor Bass Analyzer desktop app with a track list, audio spectrum, spectrogram, and bass-analysis measurements.
The in-development desktop app showing a scanned library, a selected track’s spectrum and spectrogram, and calculated sub-sonic measures.

The problem

A DJ exploring a music library needs a way to inspect the sub-sonic character of tracks. This project focuses on that exploration in a desktop interface.

My role

I’m developing the desktop app with React and Rust. Its focus is library exploration and track inspection, distinct from the direct RekordBox database integration of Bass Notes.

Decisions and their purpose

A desktop interface built with React and Rust
Bring music-library exploration into a dedicated application.
Track-level inspection as the focus
Help DJs explore the sub-sonic characteristics of individual tracks.

Current state

  • An in-development desktop application. A downloadable production release is not being offered here.

Planned refinements

  • Continue developing and documenting local processing, track inspection, adjustable profiles, and responsive analysis. Exact feature readiness still needs confirmation.
