The problem

An artist’s website needs to express a distinctive identity while giving visitors a way to explore music and media on the device they have with them.

My role

I built the artist website, including dedicated desktop and mobile experiences. Credits for supplied art, music, and other collaborators still need to be added.

Decisions and their purpose

Dedicated desktop and mobile compositions: Give the artist’s identity room to work at different screen sizes.
Music and media within the site: Let visitors explore the artist’s work in context.

What was delivered

An artist website available at ogblacman.com, with dedicated desktop and mobile experiences.

Planned refinements

An annotated desktop/mobile design walkthrough, starting with static images and visible explanations.

Custom embedded music player

Distinctive artist-branded flavor with interactivity and a live spectrum analyzer, harkening back to Y2K-style MP3 players.

A six-second looping walkthrough of the artist’s custom phone-line player and live spectrum analyzer.
